Backpack Blessings

For the fourth week now 15 backpacks have been filled, covered in prayer and sent off to Bless 15 families at East Gresham Elementary School. This ministry has truly reflected its name and been a huge blessing to many children. All reports from East Gresham have been positive and grateful. Once again your willingness to provide for, love, and serve families you do not know has caused our neighbors to pause and question why we care. How awesome it is to be able to share we care because we serve a God who cares.

Thank you for partnering with this ministry. So far all of our food and volunteer needs have been met one week at a time. The food needs are high so I ask that you continue to add a little extra food on your shopping trips to donate to Backpack Blessings. We collect food every Sunday at the kiosk in the lobby. You can find the highest food need items listed each week in the church bulletin as well as the all church email. The entire food list is available on the web site and the kiosk area.

Thank you to the team of volunteers who sort and organize food, fill backpacks and run extra errands. It is truly a blessing to me to serve in a church with so much love and compassion for our community.
