Latvia Short Term Team 2024

Thank you for your consideration in partnering with our Short-Term Mission Team to Latvia. Grace Community Church is excited to be sending a group of students, young adults and leaders to this region of Europe in the summer of 2024. We will be working with an organization called Josiah Venture, and local churches in the area, to put on a camp for Latvian students from around the country. The needs in Latvia are great. Still feeling the aftermath of the fall of communism, there is a great need to build up churches and reach the Latvian youth. Our goal is to come alongside the local churches to help build up student ministries, and develop student leaders to reach other students in their country. An effective strategy has been to have the local churches invite students from their communities and schools to English and Sports camps. At these camps, students experience an environment where they can learn conversational English. Also, through discussion groups, evening talks, sports activities and a lot of fun, many of the Latvian students are exposed to Christians and God's life-giving truths for the first time.

After camp, when the students return to their hometowns, they are invited to student ministry events, and continue relationships that were developed at camp with students from local churches in their regions. This is how ongoing discipleship and relationships are maintained and expanded. Our team will have a great opportunity to impact these students, and potentially impact future generations of Latvians as we share the love of God with them in very tangible ways.

We would appreciate your prayers as our team is preparing and training for our trip. Also, prayers for the students and churches that we will be coming in contact with when we arrive. We also have some financial needs. Each of us have to raise $3300.00 to cover travel, training and lodging expenses. We would like to ask you to prayerfully consider partnering with us and joining our support team. We can't do it without you!
