Serve With Us

At Grace Community Church, we are a family that cares for one another. We may come from different generations, ethnic backgrounds, social statuses, and neighborhoods, but we love Jesus and strive to love each other through community, resources, and service.

Greeting Team: Do you like meeting new people or hosting guests? The Greeting team is one of the most important ministries on Sunday mornings. Be the first face that someone sees as they come into the church.

Next Steps Kiosk: Our Next Steps team creates a place where our guests can come and get information, feel welcomed, and find direction to help meet their needs.

Next Steps Café Team: The Next Steps Café Team members host a casual gathering in the café after each service on Sunday mornings that guests can attend in order to learn more about life at Grace.

Sunday Hospitality

Do you enjoy meeting new people, making beverages and serving in an upbeat environment? Consider serving with our Café Barista team! Here you'll have a chance to meet regulars and new-comers, and maybe bring a little joy to those needing a refreshment.

Our security team faithfully serves our guests and church family helping keep everyone and their possessions safe while they are at church.

Security Team

Every follower of Jesus is called to make disciples--to help others wrestle with the truth of scripture and pursue a maturing faith in God. Whether you are a teacher, factory worker, lawyer, stay-at-home parent or minister, your life should point people toward a loving relationship with God. At Grace Community Church, we have several opportunities where you can share the gospel and teach others what it means to follow Jesus.

Kid’s Classroom Teachers

Serve in a critical role by investing in our Kids. Grace Community Church supports families by providing weekly opportunities for children to be influenced positively in the classroom and receive Bible-centered teaching.

Teaching &

Discipleship

Communities @ Grace Leader

The Leaders of Communities @ Grace provide a time and space for individuals to gather together to experience healthy community and spur each other on as we apply spiritual practices to our lives with the goal of spiritual, emotional, and relational transformation. We are practicing following Jesus together.

Women’s Bible Study Leader

Women’s Bible Study Leaders at Grace lead a small group of women through a bible study guide, while encouraging them to go deeper in their relationship with God and with others. This ministry at Grace exists to challenge, encourage, and disciple women of all ages.

Worship & Technical Arts

We gather every Sunday to worship God as a church family. Worship means acknowledge that something is truly valuable and worthy. Thus, we were created by God to worship Him alone, to connect with Him in relationship. One way we worship God is through music; to connect to Him and express our greatest joy and treasure in Christ. Every week we want to see God glorified in the singing of his people and the preaching of his word. Although we understand that worship happens outside the church, we want to gather together weekly and worship corporately as the Body of Christ.

WORSHIP TEAM

Our worship team is made up of volunteers who sing and play various instruments. Team members serve monthly on a Sunday morning, seeking to grow in their passion for Jesus and their artistic skill, while encouraging others as they pursue God.

To join our team you'll need to have a background in music and have experience singing or playing your instrument for others. We also would love for you to call Grace Community Church your church family by becoming a member. Above all, you'll need to be a committed follower of Jesus. More details will be provided once you begin the volunteer process.

TECHNICAL ARTS TEAM

Our Sunday services would not be possible without the many incredible volunteers that make up our Technical Arts Team. From running sound and lights, to helping with lyrics, to operating cameras, there are many roles that need filled on Sunday mornings. You don't need a lot of experience to join our team. You only need to have great attention to detail and a willingness to learn!

Serve the Community

While Grace Community Church is our church family, our neighborhood and city are where daily life happens. It is here that we take the Good News of Jesus, by serving families, schools, and the impoverished.

Backpack Blessings

Many kids and families in our community struggle to have enough food for their family. Backpack Blessings helps fill the gap for over 55 families a week at East Gresham Elementary School, and 20 families a week at Hogan Cedars Elementary. This ministry seeks to provide easy to prepare, nutrition to kids over the weekend.

To support Backpack Blessings you can:

  • Donate food from the approved food list.

  • Donate money for the purchase of food and backpacks.

  • Join the food packing/delivery or shopping team.

Faithful Friends Mentoring Program

Mentoring is proven to powerfully change lives. We believe God wants us to invest deeply in relationship and love people where they are. For this reason, we partner with Faithful Friends to provide positive, healthy relationships for kids in our community.

Hogan Road Community Garden

The Hogan Road Community Garden, located in the southeast corner of Grace Community Church’s property, is a great place to learn gardening skills, meet new people and share in a crop of fresh produce for you and your family. All are welcome! The garden operates all year round, so there’s an abundance of ways to get involved.

Advent Conspiracy

Each year at Grace we slow down a bit to reflect on how we choose to celebrate the birth of Jesus. We conspire together to celebrate differently than the world. To focus our attention on Worshiping God Fully, Spending Less on material possessions we don't need, Giving More of ourselves in relationship and Loving All those who have spiritual and material needs in our community. We call this Advent Conspiracy.  As part of Advent Conspiracy, Grace has hosted a Community Christmas Celebration for staff and families from East Gresham Elementary School. This is a time when we can celebrate together by enjoying dinner, music and crafts in a fun party atmosphere as well as provide families with needed food, clothes and even a Christmas tree. We encourage you to reallocate money from normal holiday spending to give to AC. Money given to AC will be used to resource this party and be given to Living Water International to provide clean water, sanitation and the Gospel around the world. Click HERE to give to AC.

Serve East County

Every August, we partner with other local churches to gather to bless and serve East County. We do this because we take seriously our responsibility to go and be a blessing in our neighborhood.

Locations that we serve include East Gresham Elementary, My Fathers House, Gresham Pregnancy Resource Center, and Sandy Grade School.

Serve the World

We are passionate about serving, reaching, and developing people from all nations into followers of Jesus. Just as Jesus came to earth to bring the good news of the gospel–that we can experience right relationship with God through his death and resurrection–we also take the love of God throughout the world through Global Outreach.

Global Outreach

“Global Outreach” is the international division of Grace Community Church where we take the message of Jesus into other cultures. As a church family, we partner with exceptional people and organizations to help lead people into a growing relationship with Jesus Christ by serving our international community.

We do this by:

  • Empowering all believers to participate in Global Outreach by either GOING, PRAYING or GIVING.

  • Helping meet the physical and spiritual needs of others around the world.

  • Partnering with others to create churches that unchurched people love to attend.

  • Helping to train leaders in other countries around the world.

  • Guiding, preparing, and equipping our church members for long-term service.

Short-Term Outreach Teams

The Short Term outreach teams here at Grace allow us to make cross-cultural impact and partner with you in a stretching ministry experience. Short Term trips are 10-18 day experiences where teams travel together to work and serve in locations around the world. Short-term teams partner with established ministries to serve, reach or develop people in other nations. Consider joining us for the life changing experience of sharing the gospel with those in other parts of the world. Sign ups begin in the first few months of the year, and typically the trips take place over the Summer.
